What is Aquatic Physical Therapy?

Simply put, it is performing physical therapy (PT) in the water. Water allows children to move more freely by relieving weight from the body and providing constant resistance and support to improve stability. Aquatic PT is performed by a licensed physical therapist who specializes in treating movement dysfunction, so it cannot be performed by a traditional swim instructor.
What We Do
At Jax Kids Aquatics, we specialize in providing aquatic-based therapy services to children with disabilities or injuries, from birth to 18 years of age. We are proud to be one of the only providers in the Jacksonville area offering specialized aquatic therapy for the pediatric population. Our goal is to empower children to reach their full potential and improve their quality of life through the healing power of water. Our unique one-on-one physical therapy sessions are tailored to each child's individual needs, utilizing the properties of water to promote motor skills and improve their ability to function on land.
